Why can it take some time to get an assistant on the phone?
Both Saturdays and Sundays can be very busy at our facility. During daytime and in the evenings there are four assistants available to deal with your calls. A phone conversation in which an assistant tries to understand your situation, gives you advice or schedules an appointment can take a while. Therefore, it might occur all assistants are busy; in such a case you will be put on hold. To serve you as quickly as possible it is useful to keep the following information at hand: name of the person in subject, date of birth and the insurance card of the patiŽnt.
During your call ONLY select option 1 in case of a life threatening situation, you will be connected to our emergency line immediately. We kindly request you to stay calm and hold the line.

I requested a home visit, it took the docter more than 45 minutes to arrive. How come?
At our facility one doctor is on duty especially for home visits. It might occur that several home visits are requested at the same time. By thoroughly questioning the assistant will carefully try to category the seriousness of each situation and will Ė in coordination with the doctor Ė select which visits deserve to get priority.
Of course, life threatening situations always have priority, meaning that other urgent- but not life threatening matters - will have to wait a little bit longer.
In case several life threatening situations occur at the same time, the assistant will send an ambulance.

My appointment was scheduled for 2 pm. Still I had to wait for an hour before I could speak to the doctor. How come?
Our assistent alwas makes an appointment for you if you have to visit our facility. It can happen that you'll have to wait for a while. This can be for several reasons:
Patients in a life threatening situation arrived, that need urgent medical attention
Patients arrived without a life threatening situation, however in considerable pain and in immediate need of help.

Of course it is not always clear how long the specific treatment of a patient will take. Treating a patient with rash is easier rather than a patient with a wound that needs to be stitched up.
Some patients go directly to the Emergency Room. The Emergency Room however only is open to patients who are referred by their GP. These patiŽnts come to us via the Emergency Room and need an appointment with our GP. It can happen that these patiŽnts must wait for a long time, if our schedule is very busy. Therefore, it is of great importance that you contact us first.
